Had an old Sony projector before that was a quiet workhorse for 6+ years, little disappointed in this Optoma as a first experience. I guess the easy answer is ship it back and pay Optoma's price, but I'm more concerned that something will get damaged during shipping and then I'm out the cost of a $10 fan plus who knows what else gets broken. I haven't been able to find anything about how the plastic components click together or come apart, and I'd rather not break anything. The Optoma UHD60 projector lamp with module is designed to replace bulbs in numerous Optoma projectors. It has a OEM Genuine Original Lamp Inside. For disassembly, the screws are always the easiest part. The Optoma UHD60 projector lamp with module is a genuine original replacement part for specific Optoma projectors. The limited view through the slots didn't give me much to work with. ![]() Maybe I'm just not getting air in the right direction. Can anyone tell me the exact positioning of the intake fans in the UHD60? Noise definitely seems to be coming from that side not over by the lamp. I can provide a relatively sterile environment with good grounding and most proper electronics tools, but I know there are a lot of sensitive parts inside here that I might have to worry about. Called Optoma, of course I'm just outside of my warranty, that figures.Switched projector to test pattern as I read that this disables the actuator to help in determining true cause of the noise.Compressed air for dust (nearly no dust found).A few troubleshooting steps I've done based on what I've read here: Mildly irritating at first, now nearly ruining movie watching experiences.
